Week 6 – Goodness – the habit that guides our values
Virtue is the act of integrating Godly values into our daily actions. We are not the sum total of our possessions, we are the sum total of our character. Micah 6:8 “God has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”.
A person of virtue is led by justice. Justice means to be morally and ethically right, to be fair minded and to do the right thing, We should speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for those who have no social power to change their plight, such as the poor, the needy and the unborn.
A person of virtue is proven by forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you”
A person of virtue is developed by walking with God. To be humble toward God is to be submissive to His word and His way. Not even our own reason, will or emotion speaks louder to our hearts than the Word of God. He should be ever present in our heart. Live to please Him. Conform your will to His. Genesis 6:9 “Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God”
